The Coney Island Sports Foundation is a 501(3)c not for profit organization that was established in 2001. Since its inception the Foundation has supported and sponsored several area Local Youth, Running Clubs, Catholic School, Brooklyn Triple Crown Road Races and Brooklyn's Triple Crown Annual Award Banquet at Gargiulo's Restuarant. Your participation and contribution has made this all possible.
The Coney Island Sports Foundation is back!
While the Foundation helps to rebuild the local area thanks to your generous contributions, we will also hold the Awards Banquet to thank everyone who participated in the 2012 Races.

In this year's running of the Third Brooklyn Triple Crown, it is again time for the premiere competition in local short distance running. Running teams will again compete for the chance to hold the Runners Cup for teams for another year, bragging rights, and pride in their cooperation and ability.
Winning teams from last year will have to defend their cup and gracefully transfer the trophy to another team should they win, but any team that wins three years in a row gets to keep the cup forever to display.

Founder Edwin Cosme will join forces with Latino Justice in advocating and addressing several social, employment, educational, economic, and civil rights issues. In doing so, we wish that opportunity and prosperity will come to all.

"When power leads a man toward arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitation. When power narrows the area of mans concern, poetry remind him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses."

With Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz and State Senator Diane Savino looking on, CISF Founder Edwin Cosme took a stand with the Coney Island Coalition Against Violence against the ongoing gun violence that too often cuts short someone's life in Coney Island. In a hope to spread awareness, there will be a petition drive and a poster campaign as we advocate that 2011 will be a safer year in our community.

Held at MCU Park the Foundation was a sponsor and active participant in a toy drive to brighten the Christmas of deserving children in the area with presents. We hope the turnout next year will be even better.
